Sedikit ringkasan mengenai perbaikan yang dibawa oleh Catalyst 9.12:  Driver ini memberikan peningkatan sebesar 9% bagi pengguna HD 5800 dan HD 5700 dalam 3dMark Vantage. Untuk real application, 9.12 berhasil menaikan performa VGA (single card) hingga 6% dalam game S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat. Tidak hanya itu, dalam pengamatan pribadi saya game DIRT 2 dan Dragon Age Origins terasa lebih smooth. Untuk Radeon seri HD 4800 dan HD 4700, driver ini menyediakan DirectCompute 10.1, berlaku untuk konfigurasi single card dan multi GPU. yang terakhir, Catalyst 9.12 menambahkan dukungan untuk beberapa ekstensi OpenGL 3.2 untuk semua GPU mulai dari seri  2000 ke atas.

Game ini dibuat untuk mengenang legenda rally  – Colin McRae [ R.I.P.]

Hallo guys, I know it’s late to post a review about this game, but in-case some of you reader still need info about this game, I decided to publish it.

Review ini pertama di posting di forum pc games @ chip.co.id beberapa minggu yg lalu, tepat ketika DIRT 2 dirilis dipasaran. So, enough chit-chat, please have a sit and enjoy the review.

Gameplay:

Di awal permainan, setelah meng-create profile player, kita langsung diajak oleh salah satu dedengkot rally dunia, Travis Pastrana, untuk ber-cross rally di London. Sebelum mulai tancap gas, veteran game racing mungkin akan langsung menyadari perbedaan in-game menu DIRT 2. Yup, dalam hal ini Codemaster memutuskan untuk menggunakan sistem menu 3D interaktif dan meninggalkan model menu square-block yg lazim digunakan pada seri Colin McRae sebelumnya. Hal ini buat ane berdampak positif, karena ternyata, personally, dengan fitur ini saya lebih bisa mendapatkan feel dari sebuah racing environment.

Anyway, mobil pertama yang available adalah McRae’s Subaru Impreza STI. Di race pertama ini saya sudah bisa merasakan gameplay yg solid. “It’s like a perfect blend between GRID and DIRT 1“. Driving control yg menjadi salah satu kelebihan Codemaster sangat terasa disini, saya bisa merasakan perbedaan antara driving di dirt section dan di asphalt section. Buat saya- yang gamer kelas kacangan, kontrolnya terasa intuintif, apalagi mungkin buat para veteran drifting GRID, pasti akan langsung terbiasa dengan handling game ini.

Setelah menyelesaikan track pertama kita akan ditawari untuk mengikuti dua race. Di dirt circuit Baja-California dan di loose gravel track, Kroasia. Sebagai bonus pertama, game ini meng-unlock beberapa livery (paint & decals) dan satu vehicle, the Dodge Power Wagon. Nah, di sini gamer bisa mulai merasakan perbedaan antara feel driving di gravel track dan di dirt track. Hal lain yang juga turut diperhatikan oleh Codemaster adalah perbedaan cara yang signifikan dalam mengemudikan kendaraan. Anda dapat mencoba sendiri perbedaan feel antara driving sedan, truck atau boogie car.
Selanjutnya, seiring dengan perjalanan karir (dari rookie menuju all star), kita akan di ajak untuk mengikuti total 100 event, di sembilan lokasi yang berbeda. Mulai dari Utah-USA, Marocco, China, Kroasia, LA, Baja-California, London, Tokyo sampai ke Malaysia (just too bad, Indonesia tidak masuk). Di samping itu DIRT 2 juga menyediakan beberapa mode race, dari mulai rally cross, land rush, gate crusher, last man standing, dan domination. Dua race mode terakhir adalah mode baru yang tidak tersedia di DIRT 1.

Buat para veteran racing yang suka memodifikasi settingan mobil, DIRT 2 menyediakan fitur kustomisasi. Sayangnya, untuk tampilan kendaraan tak terlalu banyak yg bisa diubah. Lain halnya untuk setting performa mobil, untuk urusan yg satu ini ada banyak hal yg bisa diubah, mulai dari downforce, gear ratio, suspension, brake, differential dll.

Mengenai unlockable stuffs, selain track dan vehicle, kita juga akan memperoleh custom liveries,  extra goodies (car interior accesories), video race, world racer photos, dll.

Sapphire bersiap untuk menambah lagi satu VGA di kelas HD 5700. Yup, it’s a Radeon HD 5770 with Sapphire’s highly effective custom cooler, the Vapor-X. Perilisan varian baru ini hanya sebulan berselang setelah mereka meluncurkan HD 5750 Vapor-X. So, Apa yang begitu istimewa dari VGA berpendingin Vapor-X ini? right, the vapor chamber, sebuah teknologi penyaluran panas yang sangat efektif. Vapor chamber (ruang/ sekat uap) berfungsi seperti heat-pipe yang bersinggungan langsung dengan core GPU. Perbedaannya dengan heat-pipe biasa adalah ukurannya yang jauh lebih besar. Panas yang diserap oleh vapor chamber disalurkan ke sirip-sirip pendingin yang langsung mendapatkan hembusan angin dari kipas.

Beberapa fitur utamanya adalah support DirectX 11, support eyefinity technology yang memungkinkan user menggunakan tiga display sekaligus. Keterangan teknis dari VGA ini diantaranya: dilengkapi dengan 800 stream prosesor, 1 GB memory 128 bit GDDR5 dan dua buah port DVI. Sebagai pelengkap, Sapphire telah melengkapi VGA ini dengan pre-overclock setting, 860 MHz core dan 1200 MHz memory clock. Not bad.

Mass Effect 2 system requirements
